meet the coaches
This will be his 10th year as head coach for Steal City. He has coached basketball for 35 years. During his career he has obtained multiple section championships, 2 Diocesan Championships, and 1 Diocesan Championship Runner-Up. He has had many former players play in college, from NCAA Division I to NAIA Division II. He has also been a PIAA Certified Referee for 15 years. Personally, he is married and has 5 daughters.
This will be Ray's 2nd year coaching for Steal City. Ray has been the head coach for 16 seasons over 8 years at St James, coaching 3 teams at the same time. As head coach, he has collected 5 section championships - advancing 5 times to the Diocesan Semi-Finals. As a player, Ray played for St. Bart's and obtained a Diocesan Championship. St. Bart's was 3rd Team in the State. He attended Central Catholic where he played basketball and football. Personally, Ray is married with 3 daughters – Gabrielle, Victoria and Olivia.
This will be Catherine's 3rd year as a Steal City Coach. As a player, Catherine started all 4 years for Avonworth High School, earning 2 sections championships, and making it to the Final Four in the 2010 State Championship. Catherine scored 1,000 points ending with a career of 1,256 points and obtaining the all-time 3-Point scorer record. Outside of basketball she works as an Order Management Specialist at Covestro.

This will be Molly's 2nd year coaching for Steal City. Molly has been playing basketball since kindergarten. In 2010 she was Team Captain for Avonworth's basketball team and led her team to the PIAA Final 4 with a 25-3 Record. Molly also received the 2009 WTAE Extra Effort Award in 2009 for excellence in sports. Molly went on to graduate from Pennsylvania State University and obtained her masters at Chatham University. Molly currently works as a Physician Assistant at Excela Health ENT.
This will be Ryan's 2nd year as a coach for Steal City. Ryan also is the current head coach for St. Bede's boys basketball team. He has been playing basketball since Kindergarten, winning the Diocesan Championship in 8th Grade for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Erie. Ryan went on to play high school basketball for Cathedral Preparatory High School. He graduated from University of Pittsburgh and currently works as a Senior Financial Advisor for PNC Bank.
Christina has coached on and off for Steal City over the past 13 years and became the co-director in 2008. She currently coaches for her church Upward program. She has coached at St. Sebastian (now Holy Cross), and was a recruiting and film coach for Carlow University. At Avonworth High School she earned a Runner Up WPIAL Basketball Medal and reached 1000 points in her 3 years. At Carlow University she achieved 1000+ points, set a single game assist, and 3 point records that still stand today. She has a Masters in Education with a degree in Biology. She is married, and currently stays home with her 2 boys, 7 and 6 years old.
This will be Brandon’s first year coaching the 6th Grade Steal City team. Brandon has held many Head Coaching positions in all different sports for boys and girls. Brandon spent (5) years coaching Seneca Valley Youth Football, (2) years coaching the Seneca Valley Boys 4th and 5th grade Travel Basketball Teams, (2) years coaching Cranberry Township 10U Travel Softball teams, and for the past 2 years he has been the Head Coach for the Seneca Valley 6th Grade Girls Travel Basketball Team. Personally, Brandon is married with 2 children – Jaydon and Skyler.
This will be Kelli's 7th year as a coach for Steal City. As a player, she is 3 time St. Sebastian Diocesan Champion. Kelli started all 4 years playing for Avonworth High School. She is Avonworth High School's All-Time Scorer and a 2005 WPIAL Champion. She went on to play Division 1 Basketball at Duquesne Unveristy. Personally, Kelli is a Physician Assistant and is married with 2 daughters, 7 and 2, and a son 6 months.
